The victim was said to be a member of the presidential guard.

President Mnangagwa narrowly escaped injury in the attack in Bulawayo city, which he described as an attempt on his life.

He’s said elections will go ahead as planned on 30 July.

The rally was Mr Mnangagwa’s first in Bulawayo, an opposition stronghold.
